Extreme Fire Danger – Industrial Fire Precaution Level IV effective September 11, 2020

PROHIBITION OF ALL CAMPFIRES, PROPANE FIRE PITS AND USE OF CHAINSAWS

 Due to the fire danger now being EXTREME, the following practices are prohibited on all public lands.  Residents of the Wild River community are urged to abide by the following prohibitions until further notice:

CAMPFIRES (both wood and propane)

CHAINSAW USE (both gas and electric)

         OUTDOOR DEBRIS BURNING

OFF-ROAD VEHICLE TRAVEL (ATV’S)

PARKING OFF-PAVEMENT or GRAVEL

MOWING OR WEED-EATING DRY GRASS

 

 Residents are encouraged to review the following FireWise suggestions for ensuring a defensible space around your homes:

 

Keep roof gutters and decks clear of pine needles and combustible debris

Clear bark mulch, combustible shrubs and bushes, trees and dry and dead plants away from your home

Store firewood outside of the defensible space zone by stacking firewood at least 30′ from all structures

Keep under decks and eaves clear or screened to prevent entry of fire embers

 

**Please keep your yard and surrounding trees watered frequently during this extreme fire season!

Tree limbs and pine needles may be dumped at the

Southwest Transfer Station
